How To Do
1. Definition
Procedure text is a text that contains information and instructions for doing something. The creation of this text procedure is to facilitate human work so that it is efficient in carrying out according to the text procedure.
2. Characteristics
- Using the Simple Present Tense.
- Use an imperative sentence which is a sentence form that is usually used to give commands. For example don't mix, turn on, cut into slices and so on.
- Using connective of sequence (then, while, next, etc.).
- Using numbering (first, second, third, and so on).
- Using verb actions. For example, turn, plug, put, etc.).
- Using adverb. For example: slowly, carefully, and so on.
3. Structure
- Goal / Aim (Located in the title)
- Ingredients / Material (Tools that require to do the process
- Steps / Method (Ways or step to achive the goal in this text)
And as you can see at the title, we will learn about "How To Do" text. So basically, "How To Do" text is almost same as a tutorial. I will give you an example
How To Do Squat
1. Stand with feet a little wider than hip width, toes facing front.
2. Drive your hips back—bending at the knees and ankles and pressing your knees slightly open—as you…
3. Sit into a squat position while still keeping your heels and toes on the ground, chest up and shoulders back.
4. Strive to eventually reach parallel, meaning knees are bent to a 90-degree angle.
5. Press into your heels and straighten legs to return to a standing upright position.
